Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation Grants 18 Local Nonprofits $308,825 in Funding

October 10, 2024

The Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation is proud to announce donations of $308,825 to 18 local nonprofits.

The Foundation's donations are the cornerstone of its annual grant-making program, which distributes grants twice a year. These funds have been instrumental in supporting initiatives focused on improving food security, enhancing services for veterans and assisting vulnerable families and individuals.

As of today, the Middlesex Savings Bank Charitable Foundation has awarded over $16 million in grants to nonprofits providing essential community services. This investment highlights the Foundation’s strong commitment to driving positive change and improving the quality of life for residents within the community.

This fall, 18 grants recipients represent a wide range of nonprofit organizations that act as a vital support system within the community that Middlesex Saving Bank serves. Through their innovative programs and dedication to social impact, these organizations are creating meaningful, lasting solutions to address the most urgent needs of our communities.

“Friendly House is thrilled to receive these critical funds from Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation targeting homelessness prevention and housing stabilization,” said Trish Appert, Friendly House Executive Director. The grant ensures Friendly House’s current level of 8 multilingual full-time caseworkers, including a welcome/triage worker to serve an average of 70-100 households daily. “The bedrock of our work is providing food, emergency shelter, social services, and safe learning and recreation for youth. We have an array of community supporters, including Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation, that help us provide a continuum of basic services to inner city families. Middlesex Savings Bank has also been a thoughtful and committed supporter, organizing an employee food drive this summer that brought 391 pounds of food to Friendly House pantries. It’s exciting to work with an institution whose support for community needs is evident from its leadership to its employees.”
